Yiannis Psaras

Yiannis is a research scientist and engineering manager at Protocol Labs, where he has worked on several protocols of the IPFS stack. He is currently interested in data-driven protocol design and optimisation to help engineers make the right decisions on protocol design. The activities of the ProbeLab group, which are manifested primarily through https://probelab.io, are focusing on IPFS and libp2p, but will soon be expanding to other networks too. Before joining Protocol Labs, Yiannis was a lecturer at University College London, where his research focused on future Internet architectures and protocol design.

The purpose of this workshop is to provide a venue for anyone interested in network measurements to bring up the challenges they face in the day-to-day operation of their network. Platform operators, protocol designers and infrastructure engineers are welcome to come to this unconf-style workshop, discuss with others and form a community around data-centric platform operation and protocol design.

The team organising the event has recently launched https://probelab.io, an extensive set of plots together with details on the corresponding experiments and tools used and will be happy to extend with more tooling that will prove useful to others.
